Buying a Ferrari – if you have the money not exactly a method of torture in the first place – has just improved. Second-hand models sold through Ferrari UK’s 15-strong dealer network are set to be backed up by Ferrari Approved, a scheme adding some piece of mind to anyone buying a car up to nine years old. Aiming to sidestep the stereotype of unreliable Italian cars, it means the average 900 pre-owned supercars Ferrari UK dealers sells each year are intended to be as good as new.
Hyundai has confirmed it will bring a 1.6 turbo version of the Veloster coupe to the UK in the second half of 2012, as first revealed by CAR. It should make an interesting alternative to the VW Golf GTI brigade. The new blown four-cylinder engine is called the Gamma 1.6 T-GDI by Hyundai - and it develops an unusually high specific output of 201bhp at 6000rpm and 196lb ft at just 1750rpm.
BMW i8 Spyder
The BMW i8 Spyder – BMW’s open-top version of their i8 eco supercar – has been revealed ahead of a debut at the Beijing Motor Show later in April. Yesterday we had the first leaked picture of the BMW i8 Spyder, the next stage on BMW’s eco supercar journey, and the news the open top i8 was heading for the Beijing Motor Show. So BMW has decided to jump in with the official reveal of the i8 Spyder which gives us more than a couple of photos of the i8 to look through, although not much more in the way of detail than we surmised yesterday.
